Our People

Ron has more than 30 years of experience in labor and employment law. He has extensive experience in advising both private and public-sector employers on numerous employment and human resource issues. He has represented employers in numerous federal and state administrative agencies including the EEOC, the U.S. Department of Labor, the National Labor Relations Board, the Illinois Labor Relations Board, the Illinois Department of Human Rights and the Illinois Department of Labor. He has also represented employers in various federal and state courts, including the U.S. Court of Appeals. Mr. Passarelli also represents employers in collective bargaining, union organizing campaigns, union picketing, strikes, unfair labor practice charges, NLRB and ILRB matters, mediation and labor arbitration hearings. He counsels employers in a myriad of employment law matters involving discrimination claims, retaliatory discharge, wage and hour issues, FMLA, ERISA, COBRA, OSHA and employment/non-compete agreements. Ron has also worked with employers developing training programs to keep them in compliance with the latest legal requirements and to inform them of the latest legal issues. Mr. Passarelli has been hired as an independent outside investigator by public agencies to investigate claims of sexual harassment and discrimination. 

Mr. Passarelli has spoken to several private and public employer groups about labor and employment law topics. He is often an invited speaker by business groups looking to improve the labor and employment law knowledge of their members. Ron was an instructor in Northern Illinois University’s Society for Human Resources (SHRM) certification program for nearly fifteen years, teaching labor and employment law to human resource professionals. Additionally, Ron has been a guest speaker and instructor at several college and law school courses.

Mr. Passarelli is also a member of several employer associations and a Board Member for the Good Shepherd Center.
