Roger L. Strandlund
Partner
Roger offers unparalleled expertise in urban planning, local government law, and transportation. Joining Ancel Glink as a partner, he brings over 30 years of legal practice and dedicated public sector service to the team.
Roger L. Strandlund received his Bachelor of Science degree from Iowa State University, majoring in Urban Planning and Economics. He thereafter graduated from University of Iowa College of Law. He brings to his 30+ year practice prior employment in regional planning and 20 years of service on the City of Moline Plan Commission and Rock Island County Board of Building Appeals. He has previously practiced law from offices in Naperville and Moline for a fourteen-member law firm, including services as managing shareholder. In 2024, he became a partner at Ancel Glink, P.C.
Mr. Strandlund has provided legal opinions to municipal officials on matters of federal, state and municipal law, drafted ordinances, represented various public sector entities in court and before administrative agencies, and assisted in the negotiation of contracts involving development and construction. For over a decade he served as outside general counsel to two of the larger regional transportation units within the state of Illinois. While he continues with some of that work, he is presently outside counsel for the City of East Moline, Illinois. He has more than 30 years of experience in the practice of local government law.
He lives in Moline, Illinois with his wife, Carol.
