Robert has been practicing workers' compensation defense for more than 35 years.
Robert's legal career has included litigating civil and workers’ compensation cases for a large Illinois municipal corporation (CTA) and a multinational law firm, as well as supervising workers' compensation and civil litigation for a major national insurer. Robert brings invaluable experience to the defense/respondent side of the law, given his intimate knowledge of the mindset of the arguments and legal strategy employed by opposing counsel. This experience gives the respondent client a big advantage in the negotiation and closure of claims. His experience includes successful jury trial experience, both at the Illinois Worker's Compensation Commission and in the various local circuit courts.
Robert’s primary responsibilities include case management from client referral through arbitration and review, including initial case analysis; drafting of status updates to clients, researching and drafting memoranda on legal and medical issues, conducting settlement negotiations, preparing and presenting witnesses and physicians for depositions and trial testimony, preparing motions, proposed decisions, statements of exception and Circuit Court briefs, presenting motions and oral arguments before Arbitrators and Commissioners, and litigating cases before an Arbitrator. Robert has been a certified and chair-qualified Circuit Court Mandatory Arbitrator in Lake and Cook Counties for more than thirty years.
Robert is licensed to practice in the State of Illinois and has been a member in good standing of the Illinois Bar since 1983. He is also a member of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois General Bar.
